Jason Matthew Daniel Pontin FRSA is an editor, journalist and publisher.
Mr. Pontin is the editor in chief and publisher of Technology Review, an independent publication owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which describes emerging technologies. As publisher and editor in chief, he is responsible for all the business and media of the world’s oldest technology publication.
From 1996 to 2002, Mr. Pontin was the editor of Red Herring, a business and technology publication which was popular during the dot-com boom. From 2002 to 2004, he was the editor and founder of The Acumen Journal, a now-defunct magazine about life sciences.
Mr. Pontin has written for many national and international magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, The Economist, The Financial Times, The Boston Globe, The Believer Magazine, and Wired, and is a frequent guest on broadcast, public, and cable television news. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
Mr. Pontin has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Tumor Foundation since 2004, and currently serves on the Public Awareness and Education, and Medical Liaison Committees. Mr. Pontin was born in London, raised in Northern California, and educated in England, at Harrow School and Oxford University.
