John Risner

John W. Risner was named President of the Children's Tumor Foundation on July 1, 2005. Prior to assuming this role he had served as Executive Director from 2004-2005, and on the Foundation's Board of Directors and as Treasurer from 2002 - 2004. Mr. Risner has been actively involved with the Foundation since 1994, Co-Chairing the Harvest Dinner and Golf Tournaments among other activities.
Mr. Risner's previous career was in the investment field, specializing in fixed-income securities. His last position was Senior Vice-President at AIG/SunAmerica Global Investments, where he served as Portfolio Manager in the high-yield bond group from 1997-2002. Prior to that he was a Senior Vice-President at Value Line Asset Management, where he managed the high-yield and convertible bond funds. He has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, a Masters in Business Administration from Fordham University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
He is Chairman of the Integration Panel of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program - NF Research Program, and a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committees of NII Holdings and The Wornick Company. John lives in Larchmont, NY with his wife Sharon and their two sons.
