Kim Hunter-Schaedle, Ph.D. joined the Foundation August 1st, 2005 as Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Hunter-Schaedle leads the Foundation's scientific and clinical programs and has focused on enhancing these to maximize our impact in the search for effective treatments for NF. She liaises closely with government funding agencies as well as the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry; is committed to maintaining the Foundation's strong links to the academic community, and to working with clinicians to improve NF Clinics nationwide. Dr. Hunter-Schaedle has a B.Sc. (Hons) from St. Andrew's University, Scotland and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of London. She has has served on the scientific staff of St. George's Hospital Medical School, University of London; The Rockefeller University, New York; and Ontogeny, Inc. (now Curis, Inc.) in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Hunter-Schaedle spent four years with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, where she established and directed an industry liaison and funding program. She has also served on the staff of Science & Technology Ventures, the technology transfer and licensing office of Columbia University. |  |
