Laura Ganio Bona Pelham Manor, New York
Laura Ganio Bona has dedicated her time, on a pro bono basis, to numerous charities and not-for-profits for over twenty five years. Currently, she is an active fundraiser for the Development Office at Fairfield University in Connecticut and is Chair of the Parents’ Committee for Annual Giving.
Ms. Bona has served as Executive Director of The Pelham Education Foundation and as a member of its Board of Directors. She is a past Trustee of the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum in New York City and a past Treasurer of the Bartow-Pell Conservancy.
Ms. Bona also has served on the Board of Directors of both The Town of Pelham Public Library as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair, and The Pelham Art Center in Public Education and Fundraising. In addition, she has been an active volunteer for sixteen years in the Pelham School District, including the PTAs, Superintendent’s Council and various Board of Education Advisory Committees.
Ms. Bona worked at Texaco Inc. from 1980 to 1996. As a Senior Financial Analyst in the Finance Department for twelve years, she was responsible for Texaco’s corporate commercial banking activities, documentation, and negotiations including project construction loan agreements, ESOP financings, international financing agreements, and various liquidity backup facilities. She managed a team of analysts in commercial banking, real estate transactions, joint ventures, lease financings, and cash flow analysis. While in Texaco’s Supply and Transportation Department, she assisted in integrating divisional data into worldwide tactical and strategic plans, and coordinated Texaco’s divisional supply operations. Ms. Bona received her Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, from St. John’s University in 1979, and received her Master Business Administration, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University in 1980.
Ms. Bona joined the Board of Directors of the Children’s Tumor Foundation in 2007, after having been involved with the Foundation in various capacities since 1992 (including on the Council of Fellows and as a member of the Board of the New York and Tri-State Chapters). She currently serves on the Public Awareness and Education and Development Committees of the national board of CTF. She also has served as Co-Chair for the Foundation’s Annual Benefit Dinner in New York City for the past five years, as well as Chair in earlier years.
Ms. Bona is married to Thomas Bona and they reside in Pelham Manor, New York. They have two children, Michael and Kristen.
