The National Neurofibromatosis Foundation was founded in 1978 by Allan E. Rubenstein, M.D., Lynne Courtemanche Shapirio R.N., and Joel Hirschtritt, Esq. In January 2005, the Foundation changed it's name to the Children's Tumor Foundation.
