Peter R.W. Bellermann retired as President of the Foundation on June 30th, 2005.  He continues to serve the foundation in the position of President Emeritus. CTF is a medical foundation engaged in basic research, clinical care activities, public education and patient support programs. Peter also serves as Chairman of the International Neurofibromatosis Association.

Mr. Bellermann is also an advisor to the World Health Organization on ethical, social, economic and political issues in genetics. Mr. Bellermann's past experience include membership in the Management Committee of the British NF Association, writing a syndicated column for the Lavine Newspaper Group and serving as the chairman of the New York State Arts Council's Appeals Panel. He was deputy director of the Volunteer Consulting Group in New York, a firm specializing in non-profit management. He has also served as the General Manager of the Performing Arts Foundation of Long Island, as Scheduler for the Vice Presidential Nominee of the Democratic Party in 1972, as Senior Political Advanceman for Presidential Candidate Edmund Muskie, and as an Investment Advisor to foreign clients of Citibank.

Mr. Bellermann is a naturalized citizen of the United States who emigrated from Germany as a teenager. He began his education with a liberal arts program in German gymnasiums and then graduated as an honors student from Morgan Park High School in Duluth, Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota for two years and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Bellermann was a member of the charter class of the Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, from which he received a Master of Public Affairs degree after studies in politics and history.

Active in community affairs throughout his life, Mr. Bellermann has received numerous awards and served on a variety of boards and public commissions. He is married, has five children and resides in Texas.
