SAVE THE DATE!! The University of Iowa NF Clinic is making plans for a NF Education meeting in June in Des Moines! There will be a research update from the June 8-10 CTF National Family Forum in New Orleans www.ctf.orgas well as other topics. We would also love to plan children's activities during the meeting! The Iowa NF Walk is a great opportunity for family, friends and co-workers to enjoy a fun day while taking steps to end NF! 

Join us on the beautiful Raccoon River Park 3.2 mile path in West Des Moines 

 

Date: Saturday, September 17, 2011

Location: Raccoon River Park
                  2500 Grand Ave.
                  West Des Moines, IA  50265

Time: 9:00 A.M - Check-in/Registration
          
10:00AM - Welcome, Group Picture and Walk begins

REGISTRATION IS FREE, but we are hoping you will set a goal of raising $100 or more for NF research. 

Refreshments will be provided. Dogs on leashes are welcome!  T-shirts will be available for sale at the walk.

Health Fair for Individuals with NF2 or Schwannomatosis

 



The Children's Tumor Foundation is partnering with Mayo Clinic to offer a "Health Fair" for individuals with NF2 or Schwannomatosis on July 29, 2011 as part of the NF Forum. The "Health Fair" is designed to provide an opportunity for a select group of individuals with NF2 or Schwannomatosis to be informally evaluated by an expert panel consisting of medical professionals (surgeons, neurologists, geneticists, ENTs, and others) that have special expertise with NF2 or Schwannomatosis. Evaluation by experts is at no charge to patients. Read more

NF Education Meeting and Pizza Party

Kelley Dining Room - Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.  Kim Piper - State Genetics Coordinator - Iowa Department of Public Health and Kathy Lowenberg Department of Genetics Social Worker at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics will answer your questions about resources that are available to NF families.

Meet and share experiences. All families and individuals affected by NF are invited to attend.
Pizza and drinks will be provided at no cost - or you can go through the cafeteria line at your own expense.
