The Lighting of the Prudential Center "Blue"

The Children's Tumor Foundation has been chosen

as a charity that will have the honor of lighting

the Prudential Center in Boston one night this December.

Please join us for NF awareness at 4:30 in the main

lobby of the Prudential Center Mall by the

"Information Center".  Bring friends and family as we

switch on the exterior Tower Lights in honor of all those who

have NF!

 “Boston Freedom Trail Walk on June 26th 

Despite a rainy and stormy day, the 3rdAnnual “Boston Freedom Trail” NF Walk gathered 60 people and raised 14K.  The walkers gathered at the historic Boston Common and walked through the historic heart of the city raising more than $14,000 to help support the mission of the Children’s Tumor Foundation.

CTF was a co-sponsor of an event for the Cromwell Center for Disabilities Awareness in Portland, Ma

The guests of honor that evening were Dwight and Susan Evans.  Dwight was and still remains close to the hearts of all Red Sox and baseball fans.  Dwight and Susan are lifelong supporters of NF Research, Awareness and Fundraising and have 2 sons who have NF.  Pictured above are Jen and Chuck Trafton, President of the Maine Chapter and John Heropoulos far right.

Molly’s family sponsored the first Annual “Spring for a Cure” Family Day at the Hope Community Church in Newburyport, MA on June 11thwhich featured family fun, games and even a special live animal show that captivated the children.  Over 100 family and friends gathered to support Molly and her family as they raised awareness and funds for NF research.  The first annual event raised over 6K!

            

The NF FORUM 2011 n Minneapolis was a great succes, welcoming families and chapters from across the country for the

National Patient and Family Symposium

There were many break out sessions and groups including NF Mom's Rock and NF Dad's Rock Kids Forum. There were group gatherings, partying, games and picnics.  A great time was had by all! 

Many kids from ALL over got to enjoy  NF SUMMER CAMP!

  

 To see these kids interact with freedom and compassion is simply amazing !     

Activities include swimming, horseback riding, campfires, a rope course, climbing wall, canoeing, fishing, and more. Off-site activities include a day at the water park, movie night, and other fun outings.

On May 21st, Over 500 people came out to The Boathouse and helped raise $4,500 for "Mission Cure NF with Dylan" 

The day was filled with fun, music, runs, games, and activities for the entire family.

The New England Region of CTF sponsored a Fellows Brunch for long time founders and supporters of CTF at The Hampshire House on May 15th.  Nearly 40 people came together to hear about new advances in NF research and the latest developments in the NF Clinics Program.  Pictured above are:  Kathleen Berentsen (NF Clinics Coordinator), Dr. Kim Hunter-Schaedle (Chief Scientific Officer of CTF), Dr. and Mrs. Alan Robbins (CTF National Board of Directors),  Richard and Leslie Kates (Founders of the New England Chapter of CTF) and Edward and Ann Stern (Legal Counsel). 

 

On April 16 the New Hampshire Chapter of CTF sponsored its 2nd annual fundraiser called a “Country Hoedown”. The night was filled with music and dancing and all had a wonderful time. NH is a new chapter that is connecting family and friends to come together, build bonds and raise funds to continue NF research.
