The New England Chapter of the Children's Tumor Foundation is pleased to report the success of the annual Fun Festival in Mattapan. Barron Chiropractic and Rehabilitation PC held their 2nd annual, Children's Tumor Foundation Fun Festival on September 16, 2006 and raised $5400.00. Dr. Barron promoted the event on his weekly TV show "Natural Health". The event was Sponsored by Citizens Bank and the law offices of Alford and Bertrand (Watertown/Mattapan) and Jeffrey Glassman (Boston). Many local businesses donated to the event as well.

The Bruins Alumni battled the NF All-Stars to benefit the Foundation on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Bruins Alumni won the game, but the NF community ultimately won with the thousands of dollars that were raised for research. Thank you to all of the players, sponsors and volunteers who came together to make this event a great success.

The Westport/Weston Walk for Children's Tumor Foundation at Compo Beach in Westport, Connecticut took place on Sunday, October 9, 2005 with great success. The volunteer committee of Nancy Hyatt, Mary pat Pino and Karen Sherman worked hard and their efforts are greatly appreciated. The event raised over $15,000!

Posted On: Sept 2005 On Sunday, August 28, a "Fun Walk and Festival" was held in Mattapan, Massachusetts hosted by volunteer Philip Barron in the parking lot the Barron Chiropractic office - thank you Philip! The event raised over $8,000 for the Children's Tumor Foundation. Thank you to the sponsors: the law offices of Stephen Alperts (Boston and Marlborough), Alford and Bertrand (Boston and Watertown), Samuel Reef (Brockton) and Jeffrey Glassman (Boston) and True View Diagnostic (Digital Motion X-ray). Many local businesses donated gift certificates for the "give-away", including: Brother's deli, Dunkin' Donuts, Simco's, Nadia's, Mattapan Auto and Tire, DJ Boutique, Acapulco Mexican Restaurant and Kidz Planet Gymnastics in Easton. |

| On Sunday, May 22, 2005, the Mullen Family hosted a 3-mile run and 1-mile walk at Rockwell Park in Bristol, Connecticut to benefit the Foundation. The event was called "Colt's Run for NF" in honor of Colt Mullen who has NF1. | Dr. Bill Knowles gave a talk about The NF Project on Thursday, September 30, at Children's Hospital Boston. In leading the NF Project, Dr. Knowles will partner with pharmaceutical companies to investigate whether drug compounds that these companies have discovered will be effective in treating NF. He is the father of 2-year-old identical twin boys with NF1. |
