Forming a Walk team makes it even easier for your acquaintances to join you in your fight to end NF. Recruiting teammates expands the network of individuals from whom your team can gather donations and encourages more people to get involved. More importantly, walking with friends is a fun way to spread awareness of NF and the work of the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Your team will be proud of not only the donations you will raise by combining your efforts, but also for having engaged in a day of healthy activity with loved ones.

What is team captain?
A team captain is the lead coordinator and motivator for a NF Walk Team. The primary responsibility of team captains is to recruit people to join their walk team, name their team, set a team fundraising goal and consistently encourage, motivate and communicate with team members before, during and after and the walk.
Team captains are the Children’s Tumor Foundation’s main contact with participants. They communicate directly with the Children’s Tumor Foundation walk team receiving ongoing information, guides and ideas during the months before the walk. Each walk team must have a team captain.

How many members should be on my team?
Team captains should have a goal to recruit approximately 5 to10 people or more for their team. However, there is no minimum requirement.   We encourage teams of any size.

What is a fundraising goal and how much should it be?
Let your team members know what the goal is and plan ways to reach this goal. Your team members can donate to your page, or they can host events to help out the team. Every dollar raised goes a long way! The suggested fundraising goal for each teammate is $100. With a team of five or ten, the fundraising goal is between $500- $1000. Remember you can change your individual and or team fundraising goal at any time.

Who should I recruit?
Tell everyone you know about your NF Walk team and ask them to join. Whether they are joining to walk just to help fundraise, or volunteer at the walk, they can be part of your own team. The more team members, the better! To recruit team members, ask your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, community or religious groups, civic groups and anyone else you may know. Send emails or texts, post on Facebook or Twitter, or ask by word of mouth. As long as the word is out there, you will quickly build up a strong team.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
