Children’s Tumor Foundation and TRG Motorsports Team for the STP 400 and Sahlen’s Six-Hour at The Glen Mooresville, NC, (June 3, 2011) - The Children’s Tumor Foundation logo will be carried on the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Ford Fusion driven by Andy Lally for Sunday’s running of the Sprint Cup Series STP 400 to be run at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, June 5. The Children’s Tumor Foundation is a non-profit medical foundation, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF). Founded in 1978, the Foundation is the driving force behind world-class research to end NF. “The Children’s Tumor Foundation is incredibly pleased and proud of our association with Kevin Buckler’s No. 71 TRG Motorsports team for this weekend’s STP 400,” Jill Beck, Racing4Research Director said. “The space on the TRG Motorsports Ford Fusion will help us share our message about this common, yet little known disorder that tragically affects one in every 3,000 children born. The massive popularity of NASCAR allows us an opportunity to reach more people than we ever have before and we look forward to the attention that this event can bring to our cause.” Kevin Buckler, team owner, is excited to further the organizations relationship with the Children’s Tumor Foundation. “We started our relationship with the Children’s Tumor Foundation at this year’s Grand-Am Rolex 24 Hour,” Buckler said. “This is an unbelievable and unique charity and is supported by some incredible individuals. In addition to the Kansas NASCAR event we will be running the Foundation’s colors on our Grand Am Porsche at Watkins Glen this weekend as well. I have been to several of their charity functions and have been beyond impressed by their outreach and ability to spread the word on this progressive condition. I honestly don’t get “moved” very often, but his one will bring tears to your eyes and open your mind to supporting this great foundation. With the reach of NASCAR as well as the 100,000 plus fans that will be at Kansas Speedway this weekend, we are hopeful we can extend that reach by helping to educate people on this worthwhile cause. I am proud to be associated with the Children’s Tumor Foundation.” To make a donation or learn more about the Children’s Tumor Foundation please visit their web site at www.ctf.org. Children’s Tumor Foundation The Children’s Tumor Foundation (www.ctf.org) is the driving force behind research aimed at finding treatments and a cure for neurofibromatosis, or NF. NF affects more than one in every 3,000 children born, more than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and Huntington’s disease combined and can lead to a wide variety of complications including blindness, deafness, skeletal defects, disfigurement, learning disabilities, cardiovascular problems, and cancer. Racing4Research raises money to fund research while offering children and families living with the disorder a uniquely empowering weekend. Donations can be made at www.racing4research.org.
