Owen has NF. NF has has challenged Owen every day since he was 6 months old. Owen is currently 9 years old. For eight years, Owen (and his mom and dad) have been riding a roller coaster of ups and downs, highs and lows, and the waiting game of "everything looks stable". Owen is in 4th grade and knows more about the inside of a Children's hospital than anyone in his class. Owen is currently 'stable', but prior to today, he endured 2 years of weekly chemotherapy to fight against two brain tumors. The brain tumors have caused vision issues and violent seizures. Owen has spent time in hospital emergency rooms, ambulances, oncology labs, MRIs, CAT scans, and tech labs getting blood drawn. Owen has a team of doctors that cannot cure NF. All these wonderful people can do is make Owen comfortable until a cure can be found. That is why I sit at this computer writing out a short bio aobut Owen. I want a cure for NF.
