Dr. Plotkin

Postby Noelle66 » Sun Aug 16, 2009 1:39 pm

Hello:

I FINALLY have an appointment with a doctor who specializes in NF. No more neurologists, etc..... The appointment is not until January 26th, but it's been over 20 years since I've seen an NF specialist, whats another 6 months.

Love & God Bless
Noelle
Me 42 diagnosed with NF1 at 19. My precious son Sam passed away at the tender age of 14 (10-30-08), optic glioma, plexiform neuroma, MPNST (of which he passed from MPNST).

When Dartmouth first diagnosed me and I decided to go to an NF clinic, I called there, Dr. Plotkin's office and hadn't gotten anywhere I was scheduled at DHMC to have my tumors removed, but they haven't touch the NF tumors in someone's foot before that is why I went to Mass General. 5 days before my surgery I said to myself well i won't cancel my surgery boston hasn't called back, that night Dr. Plotkin called and wanted to know more about me and took a full history and told me to come NOW so 2 days later we went. he was amazed at how I was walking couldn't believe that I wasn't in a wheel chair.brings records, x-rays and MRI's if you can. DHMC charges for you to get a copy so maybe have it sent to him that way there it won't cost you anything.
again good luck and I will be here for you. especially as you get closer to give you directions, there isn't a huge sign to say MASS GENERAL and you will go right by it and it may take you 5 miles to turn around, well we did a u-turn behind a taxi cab that did one

he does mainly research for schwannomatosis because he treated me for that he honestly can't tell if I have NF 1 or schwannomatosis, mater talking with Dr. at DHMC, they all said i wave strange signs, but majority rules NF 1
click on on the home page here for the news letter and you can see what he has done.
