| Mission
The mission of the Children's Tumor Foundation Young Professionals Committee is to: facilitate networking opportunities for young professionals, coordinate events to raise funds to enable effective treatments and a cure for neurofibromatosis "NF," and expand awareness of NF by increasing the general population's understanding of the daily challenges persons with NF face.
History
The Children's Tumor Foundation Young Professionals Committee was founded in May 2003 by Bara Colodne to create awareness of Neurofibromatosis and fundraise to support further research towards a cure for NF. Today, the Committee is comprised of young, dedicated individuals from New York City, who are committed to supporting CTF's mission of improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by Neurofibromatosis (NF). These committed members volunteer their time, talents, and skills to benefit over 100,000 Americans living with NF.
During the past three years, the Young Professionals Committee has raised funds for CTF through unique events that contribute to the Foundation's programs financially, while creating opportunities for personal outreach in a social setting. The committee's work gives young professionals the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a philanthropic environment and use their talents and contacts to strengthen the organization while they network and acquire new business and personal contacts. |
