Attention NF Researchers: New Federal Funding Opportunities Available

NF (neurofibromatosis or schwannomatosis) is now eligible for two Department of Defense (DoD) research funding programs. These are competitive, cross-disease funding pools – and we strongly encourage NF researchers to apply.

Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP)

NF has been added to the PRMRP, a $150 million funding pool supporting a broad range of medical research areas. Two major award mechanisms are now open:

Technology/Therapeutic Development Award (TTDA)
Clinical Trial Award (CTA)

Deadlines:
Pre-Application (Letter of Intent): June 9, 2025
Full Application: July 21, 2025, 11:59 p.m. ET

Rare Cancers Research Program (RCRP)

 NF-related tumors may also qualify under the RCRP, which focuses on rare cancers. The following award mechanisms are available:

Concept Award (CA)
Pre-Application (Letter of Intent): July 22, 2025
Full Application: August 26, 2025

Resource and Community Development Award (RCDA)
