CTF Brings Neurofibromatosis to the BIO CEO & Investor Conference

By February 9, 2010December 18th, 2023Awareness, Science & Research

The past two days have been a whirlwind at the 12th Annual Biotechnology Industry Organization CEO and Investor Conference at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Traditionally a forum for biotech and pharma companies and investors to partner, the Children’s Tumor Foundation was among a small number of medical research foundations invited to participate. The meeting kicked off yesterday for CTF at 9am with a platform presentation on neurofibromatosis and our research programs, which was well attendned and well received. This has been followed by 2 days of ‘partnering’ meetings, more or less a form of ‘speed dating’ where we have 25 minutes to speak one-on-one to a biotech or pharma that has drugs in its pipeline that we think might be candidate neurofibromatosis therapies … and to convince them of this. We made many good connections here and will be following up to get more drugs into NF preclinical screening and maybe clinical trials. Special thanks go to Tricia Brooks and her advocacy team at BIO for making this happen for us, and for including neurofibromatosis and CTF in BIO’s new ‘Patient Advocacy’ video which you can view now on the BIO homepage at
