Dr. Brigitte Widemann of the National Cancer Institute Wins the 2013 Friedrich von Recklinghausen Award

The Children’s Tumor Foundation is pleased to announce that Dr. Brigitte Widemann of the National Cancer Institute is the 2013 recipient of the Friedrich von Recklinghausen Award.

Dr. Annette Bakker, Cheif Scientific Officer of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, presented the award to Dr. Widemann at CTF’s 2013 NF Conference in Monterey, California.

First awarded by the Foundation in 1984, the initial recipient of the Friedrich von Recklinghausen Award was CTF’s Founder and Chairman of Medical Affairs Emeritus, Dr. Allan Rubenstein. Past recipients include Dr. John Carey, current NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins, Dr. Bruce Korf, Dr. Robert Martuza, Dr. John Mulvihill, and Dr. Ray White. This tradition was revived in 2008 to continue to recognize important contributions to NF research.
