Encouraging MPNST Study Funded by the Children’s Tumor Foundation

Please click here for an encouraging article on malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) research that was partially funded by the Children’s Tumor Foundation. MPNSTs are highly aggressive sarcomas that form around nerves. These tumors can develop sporadically, but about half of cases are in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).

Amish Patel of the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical Center, one of the lead researchers on this study, was given a Young Investigator Award in 2012.
