Photo Contest Winners Announced

By June 13, 2016February 28th, 2024Awareness

We’re excited to announce the winner of the 2016 NF Awareness Month “Picture a World Without NF” photo contest!

We were so moved to see how you envision your world without NF. Together, we will continue driving research, expanding knowledge, and advancing care for the NF community, and work to make those dreams a reality.

Scroll down for the winning submission and several honorable mentions. Visit our Flickr album to scroll through all of the entries. And remember, you can always share your photos with us by using the tag #EndNF!

WINNER:

Ryker, age 9, is enjoying his day outside at our house in Midlothian, TX with our dog, Molly. He’s fighting NF by showing the world that even though he has struggles because of NF1, he doesn’t let it stop him from enjoying life.

Honorable Mentions:
(in no particular order)

One brother with NF the other in support of him. In this together forever! Let’s end NF!

Krissy Dias, age 28, was diagnosed with NF2 when she was 8 years old.
“We are always looking out towards the horizon, towards the future. NF cuts that future short for many bright souls around the world. I’ve been battling NF myself for twenty years now and I refuse to let it extinguish my fire. Research towards battling NF will help future generations shine their light bright and true.”

Hudson, age 10, knows and loves a born fighter. His little sister Myleigh, age 6, has NF1. Our family is standing strong in Arkansas and moving forward toward a cure with CTF.

NF Hero Carson stands in awe at the base of 8th and Main, as the building Shines a Light on NF during NF Awareness Month.

My 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with NF1 in January. Our whole family has jumped to support him and there’s no looking back. Even when “laundry” piles up, we will fight at his side to give him the wonderful farm life a boy deserves.

We took a family trip with our NF Hero, Rylie Evans, this weekend down to Southern Utah on a National Parks tour.

Three Superheroes hanging out at an NF Walk. You may recognize Spiderman and Wonder Woman, and now you know the woman in the middle: Mercedes Christesen. Mercedes is a great supporter in the Idaho area and attends most events that CTF puts on. She is also amazing at raising awareness in the community and inspiring self confidence in local kids living with NF.
