SAVE THE DATE – MAY 3, 2013

The objective of this conference is to review the newest advancements in diagnostics and management of neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) and schwannomatosis. Participants will have an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in several interactive sessions related to the clinical aspects of these. Targeted audience is medical professionals, trainees, as well as, patients and families affected by NF2 and schwannomatosis.

This event is sponsored by the Children’s Tumor Foundation and is a collaboration between the Mayo Clinic, Children’s Tumor Foundation, Children’s Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota Medical Center. Didactic sessions will take place in the morning, followed by a patient “Health Fair” in the afternoon.

Didactic Session
Featured presenters include Ludwine Messiaen, PhD, Director of Medical Genomics Laboratory at the University of Alabama and Jaishri Blakeley, MD, Director of The Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Neurofibromatosis Center.

Patient Health Fair
The “Health Fair” provides an opportunity for a select group of individuals diagnosed with NF2 or schwannomatosis to be informally evaluated by an expert panel consisting of international medical professionals (surgeons, neurologists, geneticists, ENTs and others) that have special expertise with NF2 and schwannomatosis. Given the number of controversies in management of NF2 and schwannomatosis, this interactive session will also be an excellent learning platform for all medical professionals.

Evaluation by experts will be at no charge to patients.

Participation is free and open to patients and medical professionals alike. Lunch will be provided for all participants. Advance registration is required as space is limited.
